USA Baseball events bat rules, in plain English (2026)
The short version (USA Baseball's own events)
- 10U–12U: non-wood bats must be USABat certified. 32" max length, 2 5/8" max barrel, no weight/length ratio limit.
- 13U–15U: one-piece wood, BBCOR -3, or NFHS-approved BBCOR wood-barrel bats only. 34" max, 2 5/8" max barrel.
What about my rec league?
Many rec and youth organizations (Little League, PONY, Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken, Dixie Youth, AABC) use the USABat standard for younger divisions but set their own age cut-offs. Check your league's own bat page.
